For Collaborating Partners

Melkflow was built by lactation consultants, for lactation consultants. We know that any industry relationship in our field deserves scrutiny. Commercial interests have a long history of undermining breastfeeding, and IBCLCs hold each other to the Code of Professional Conduct for good reason. That is why we want to be fully transparent about how our partnerships work.

Melkflow does not accept money from its partners. No sponsorships, licensing fees, commissions, or referral payments. Our partners have no financial stake in Melkflow and no input into its clinical content.

What our partnerships involve. When a client indicates they already own a specific product, such as a breast pump, Melkflow gives you the manufacturer's official instructional materials for it: assembly, flange fitting, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Our partners grant permission to share those materials. That is the full scope of the arrangement.

This grew out of a practical problem. Too much consult time goes into working out how a client's specific pump works. Having accurate, manufacturer-verified information in one place saves that time and reduces errors, without steering anyone toward a product.

How Melkflow protects clinical independence:

• Partner materials appear only after a client says they own the product.
• Melkflow never recommends a brand, and never suggests pumping, bottles, or any device unless your clinical assessment calls for it.
• All clinical content is written and reviewed independently, based on evidence, and in line with the aim of the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes and subsequent WHA resolutions.
